Meet the Maker

C.S. Elliot Trading Co. was founded by Clark Elliot, a professional gunsmith specializing in the painstaking restoration and preservation of vintage firearms.

Gunsmithing is a trade measured in thousandths of an inch.  It requires a mastery of historical mechanics, precision machining, welding, woodworking and specialized chemical finishes.  Whether it is bringing a century-old action back to life or developing our own proprietary shop formulations, like our Formula 47 Old Masters Rust Bluing Solution, we do not cut corners. If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing once.

From the Bench to the Feed (The Accidental Community)

"To be completely honest, the digital side of this business started almost by accident.

I started recording and posting short, poorly edited videos just to share the daily grind of the bench and interesting firearms and fixes.  There was no grand marketing strategy, no script, and no polished production, just a camera rolling. To my surprise, the internet responded.

Those videos started catching fire, racking up millions of views, and drawing in people from all walks of life from around the world. What began as a simple way to document shop work quickly transformed into a thriving community.  Today, we are incredibly proud to stand behind a community of dedicated viewers, creators, outdoorsmen, and tradespeople who tune in to watch, swap knowledge, and support the craft."

The Workshop Standard

In a professional shop, tools and gear are not commodities, they are daily investments. Cheap equipment ruins fine work, fails under pressure, and compromises safety.

That is why we launched this e-commerce storefront.  We wanted to bridge the gap between high-caliber tradespeople and the premium gear they rely on.  Every product, tool, and piece of apparel featured on our site must meet the Workshop Standard.  If we wouldn't trust it on our own benches, in our own hands, or out in the field, we won't sell it to you.  Period.
